Tim Tawa

Tawa opened the year at Triple-A Reno before being recalled in early April to make his major league debut as an injury replacement for Ketel Marte. He was hitting just .190 when Marte returned in early May, but Tawa remained with the Diamondbacks after producing five homers, two steals, 10 runs and 10 RBI in 19 games. He spent most of the season with the club, though a month-long demotion in the second half interrupted his run. His production tailed off significantly, but above-average defense across the diamond helped preserve his roster spot. Tawa's defensive versatility gives him a path to a super-utility role, though a high strikeout rate and modest quality of contact limit his chances for sustained regular playing time.
