Edouard Julien

Julien struggled for a second consecutive season in the majors putting his role for 2026 in doubt. Julien had a breakout rookie season in 2024 where he displayed a mix of exceptional plate discipline and power. He's looked nothing like that since as he had an OPS of .615 in 2024 and .633 in 2025. Strikeouts continue to be an issue with a 29.3% K% and 21.8% chase rate last season. He offset his high strikeout rate in the minors with extremely high walk rates, but that fell to 10.6% last season. Julien has also struggled defensively at second base (-2 Runs Saved last season) and the Twins used him more at first base. He doesn't have enough power to play regularly at first base, however. He also struggles against lefties (career .591 OPS vs. LHP) which limits his playing time. He'll fight for a bench role this spring but may need a fresh start in another organization to turn his career around. Read Past Outlooks
