Trevor Rogers Injury: Throws 44 pitches in rehab start
Rogers (knee) made his first minor-league rehab start Wednesday with Double-A Chesapeake, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out three in three innings.
Working his way back from a right knee subluxation, Rogers showed some signs of rust but tossed 44 pitches in his return to game action. The left-hander will likely to need at least three more rehab starts to build up his pitch count before the Orioles view him as an option for the big-league rotation. While he's not guaranteed a starting spot for the Orioles once he's deemed ready to return from the 15-day injured list, the team ranks last in the majors in ERA (5.25) and batting average against (.291) and could use some help.
