Patrick Sandoval Injury: Rehab stalls
Sandoval (elbow) appears unlikely to return from the 60-day injured list this season after the Red Sox recently had him stop throwing bullpen sessions, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Sandoval hasn't been shut down from throwing, but he's being limited to playing catch right now after he apparently hit a snag in his recovery from his June 2024 internal brace surgery. The 28-year-old southpaw inked a two-year, $18.25 million deal with Boston over the winter, so he'll be under contract heading into 2026 and will look to battle for a rotation spot next spring.
