MLB Best Bets Today
New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox: Under 8.5 total runs, -105 @ BetMGM
The series opener between these two teams Friday ended with a 4-1 win for the Yankees, and even though three of the last five have seen more than 8.5 total runs scored, two of those only had nine, so the value for a low-scoring output is undoubtedly present. Five of their 11 head-to-head meetings in 2025 have also ended with eight or fewer total runs, but the scoring trend has certainly reduced after the first three games in this AL East heavyweight matchup saw a total of 50 runs scored. The pitching matchup is also favorable for a low-scoring output.
The Red Sox will have Brayan Bello (11-6, 3.12 ERA) on the mound, while the Yankees will counter with Max Fried (16-5, 3.02 ERA). Fried has been among the most consistent pitchers in the American League in 2025.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Seattle Mariners: Mariners to cover -1.5 run line, +104 @ FanDuel
The Mariners are on a roll and have a strong case to be considered the hottest team in the AL. With the regular season winding down and only a few weeks left of action, Seattle couldn't have picked a better time to get hot. Not only are they riding a seven-game winning streak, a stretch that included series wins over Atlanta and St. Louis, as well as winning the first two of this four-game set against the Angels. They've also been excellent on the defensive side, as they've limited opposing teams to three or fewer runs six times during that winning run. They've also covered the +1.5 spread in five of those seven wins, so they should take advantage of their solid run of play to keep their impressive stretch of play alive.

Colorado Rockies vs. San Diego Padres: Dylan Cease under 7.5 strikeouts, +128 @ bet365
Cease is one of the best pitchers in the NL when it comes to strikeouts and is on the verge of posting a fifth straight season with at least 200 punchouts. However, it's also worth noting that he's been trending in the wrong direction of late.
Cease has failed to pitch past the fifth inning in each of his last five outings, a stretch in which he's gone 2-1 with a 5.82 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP across 21.2 frames. The strikeout numbers remain solid, with 10.8 K/9 over that span, but he's recorded five or fewer Ks three times during that five-start span. Facing the Rockies is an enticing matchup to turn things around, but it wouldn't be shocking if Cease falls below the proposed line of 7.5 strikeouts again.
