2025 Fantasy Outlook
At 6-foot-8, Myers brings enviable size as a right-shot defenseman, making him a valuable piece of the Canucks’ defensive corps. In the 2024-25 season, he recorded six goals and 18 assists in 71 games as part of Vancouver’s top four. The 16-year veteran started out his career as a major focal point of a team’s offense from the back end, but that point production has dropped as the 35-year-old’s career has worn on. He can block some shots for you, but he was limited to just 35 seconds of power-play time per game last season. That means his ceiling seems to be capped around the 25-30 point mark at this stage of his career despite the fact he will likely continue to get top-four minutes for the Canucks. Read Past Outlooks
Traded Wednesday
Myers (not injury related) was acquired by Dallas from Vancouver on Wednesday in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2029 fourth-round selection, per Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
ANALYSIS
Vancouver retained half of Myers' remaining contract, so Dallas is responsible for $1.5 million of his annual cap hit for the rest of this campaign and 2026-27. The 36-year-old defenseman has a goal, eight points, 40 PIM, 65 hits and 91 blocks in 57 appearances in 2025-26. He might see his playing time drop in Dallas relative to his average of 20:13 in Vancouver this season, but Myers should be a solid option on the Stars' second or third pairing. Myers missed Vancouver's past three games for roster-management reasons as the Canucks shopped him, and it remains to be seen if he'll make his Stars debut Friday versus Colorado. Myers might be given more time to settle in before getting into his first game with Dallas.

Many of the complaints about Myers' value over the last decade have come from a salary that doesn't match his production. That makes it a bit ironic that after his best season in five years -- 29 points, a plus-16 rating, 110 hits and 136 blocked shots in 77 regular-season games -- Myers took a cut in pay to stay with a Canucks team that has a wide-open competitive window. He seemed to benefit from a smaller role, averaging less than 20 minutes per game for the first time in his career. His physicality has also grown over the years, and that will give him a safer floor in fantasy formats that reward such contributions. However, Myers' offense has been volatile and will likely regress closer to the 20-25 point range now that he's out of a contract year.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Heading to Dallas?
Myers, who has been kept out of Vancouver's past three games for trade-related reasons, might be shipped to Dallas, Darren Dreger of TSN reports Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Myers has a goal, eight points, 40 PIM, 65 hits and 91 blocks in 57 appearances with Vancouver in 2025-26. He's in the second season of a three-year, $9 million contract, so this would be more than a rental for the Stars. The 36-year-old has averaged 20:13 of ice time with the Canucks this season, but he might see his workload decrease if he's acquired by Dallas.
