Detroit released Glasgow on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Glasgow's release will save the Lions roughly $5.6 million in cap space, per Richard Silva of The Detroit News. The veteran center is entering his age-34 season and projects to draw real interest from teams in need of an experienced starter, even after a relatively lackluster 2025 campaign.

Glasgow signed a three-year, $20 million contract to remain in Detroit in the offseason and he's expected to take over as the team's starting left guard in 2024.
Given a $4.5 million contract to come to Detroit, Glasgow is competing for the starting job at right guard.
Glasgow's first two seasons in Denver have been a bit of a disappointment, but the veteran will look to prove himself in 2022. After suffering a season-ending ankle fracture in Week 9 last season, Glasgow will look to reclaim his spot as the Broncos' starting right guard when completely healthy.
Signed as a free agent in 2020 by the Broncos, Glasgow stepped in as one a top offensive lineman in Denver. However, last season was a bit of a disappointment for the veteran as he learned a new blocking scheme and found himself surrounded by young players on both sides of him in the trenches. Glasgow is a lock to start at right guard in 2021, and the overall improvement of the offensive line should allow him to flash his talent and prove why he was such a coveted acquisition last season.

Might step in as starting center
OGDetroit Lions
June 2, 2025
Glasgow could take over as the Lions' starting center following the retirement of Frank Ragnow, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran offensive lineman has been splitting reps at center with 2025 second-round pick Tate Ratledge in OTAs while Ragnow mulled his football future. Glasgow had a previous stint as Detroit's center in 2018, but he spent 2024 as the team's starting left guard. Ratledge and Glasgow could continue their job battle into training camp.
