2025 Fantasy Outlook
Pineiro is a surprise entry at No. 3 on the career FG percentage list, having made 88.1 percent of attempts overall and at least 82.1 percent in each of his five NFL seasons. The conversion rate is inflated by a lack of long attempts -- 11-of-14 from 50-plus yards, with 126 career field-goal attempts overall -- and hasn't translated to success on PATs (92.1 percent), which may help explain why he's a free agent after kicking for Carolina the past three seasons. Pineiro never got enough volume in Carolina to be more than a back-end fantasy option or bye-week streamer. Read Past Outlooks
Staying in San Francisco
Pineiro and the 49ers agreed to a four-year, $17 million contract Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Pineiro took over for beleaguered kicker Jake Moody in San Francisco in Week 2 of the 2025 campaign and ended up connecting on 28 of 29 field-goal attempts and 34 of 38 point-after tries in 14 regular-season games. Pineiro's mark of 8.4 points per contest ranked fifth among NFL placekickers with at least that many appearances, and the 30-year-old now is locked in as the 49ers' kicker through 2029.

2019
Pineiro made 90.6 percent of his field-goal attempts and 90.4 percent of PATs over the past two seasons in Carolina, rebounding nicely after bouncing around the league from 2019 to 2021. He missed the final two games of 2023 with a hamstring injury and finished 27th among kickers in fantasy points, attempting just 20 PATs all year (and missing three). Pineiro should keep the job in 2024, but any chance at relevance requires a massive step forward for the Carolina offense in Year 2 with Bryce Young at quarterback and Year 1 of Dave Canales' coaching tenure.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
SF's kicker moving forward
Pineiro agreed to a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, after the team waived Jake Moody earlier in the day.
ANALYSIS
Pineiro's set to work as the kicker for the 49ers moving forward. He boasts an impressive 88.1 career field-goal conversion percentage, but Pineiro's accuracy has declined each of the past three seasons. Moody started the season on a short leash after missing 10 field-goal attempts last season, and his two misses in Week 1 opened the door for Pineiro to usurp him.
