FanDuel Fantasy Football: Top Lineup Strategies for Saturday Wild Card Games

Jordan Love's return could have fantasy players eyeing up the Packers' quarterback, but RotoWire's Mike Barner explains why they're better off focusing on the Green Bay backfield for Saturday's two-game slate.
FanDuel Fantasy Football: Top Lineup Strategies for Saturday Wild Card Games

The NFL playoffs begin with two games Saturday: the Panthers will host the Rams, followed by the Packers facing the Bears. Let's dig into the Saturday FanDuel NFL DFS slate and highlight some of the top players to consider.

The Games

Over-UnderRoad TeamRoad Team TotalHome TeamHome Team Total
46.5Rams28.5Panthers17.5
45.5Packers23.5Bears22.5

There is no significant difference between the two totals for these games, though the Rams are the biggest favorites on the slate and have the highest team total.

Value Options

Romeo Doubs, GB at CHI ($6,000): Dobbs finished with a career high 724 receiving yards this season. Although his target share was only 18.5 percent, he had an average depth of target of 12.6 yards and accounted for 26.9 percent of the Packers' air yards. When he faced the Bears in Chicago in Week 16, he caught five of six targets for 84 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, the Bears allowed the third-most yards per target to wide receivers this season.

Blake Corum, LAR at CAR ($5,700): The Rams gave Corum more work down the stretch, as he got at least 11 carries in four of their final five games, rushing for at least 48 yards four times and scoring a touchdown in three. In a Week 13 matchup against the Panthers, Corum turned seven rushing attempts into 81 yards and one touchdown. The Panthers were tied for the fifth-most rushing touchdowns allowed to running backs this season, so don't be surprised if Corum finds his way into the end zone again.

Other Value Options

RB Kyle Monangai, CHI vs. GB ($5,600)
WR Christian Watson, GB at CHI ($6,400)
WR Jalen Coker, CAR vs. LAR ($5,700)
TE Tommy Tremble, CAR vs. LAR ($4,700)

Stacks to Consider

Los Angeles Rams at Carolina Panthers

The Rams scored 28 points in their loss to the Panthers in Week 13; Matthew Stafford ($8,300) had two interceptions, though he also threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns. He has two top stacking options in Puka Nacua ($10,000) and Davante Adams ($8,000). Adams hasn't played since Week 15 because of a hamstring injury, but he has been a full participant in practice this week and is expected to return. He had 14 touchdowns this season, two of which came against the Panthers. Given how much cheaper his salary is, stacking Adams with Stafford could prove to be the wise move.

Bryce Young ($6,900) had three touchdown passes against the Rams in Week 13, including one to Tetairoa McMillan ($7,500) on his lone 43-yard reception. After posting two touchdowns over his first 10 games, McMillan finished the season with five scores over his final seven. The Panthers might need to throw a lot to try and keep pace with the Rams' offense, so the duo of Young and McMillan are worth considering in GPPs.

High-Price Hero

Jordan Love, GB at CHI ($7,400): Love will make his return after sitting out the final two games of the regular season because of a concussion. He was injured in that Week 16 matchup against the Bears, throwing for just 77 yards before his departure. When he played them in Week 14, he threw for 234 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. The Bears allowed the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks this season, which gives Love a high floor.

The Smash Spot

Josh Jacobs, GB at CHI ($7,900)

The Packers held Jacobs out of their final game of the regular season to allow him to rest a few injuries, and that could prove to be key for the playoffs. He received at least 17 carries in a game eight times this season and averaged 82.4 rushing yards and scored nine rushing touchdowns. The Bears allowed 4.84 yards per carry to running backs, which was the fourth-highest mark in the league. The Packers could lean on their running game, which Jacobs has the potential for a juicy stat line.
